Halloween Costume Party Ideas: Halloween Party Recipes

Make these delicious recipes a few days ahead of your party. That  way you will be spending less time in the kitchen and more time with your guests!!

Here are some more favorite recipes for any holiday.

Halloween Punch

Makes 10-1/2 cups

4 c  Apple cider

1 1/2 c  Orange juice

1 c  Pineapple juice

2 tbs Sugar

4 c  Ginger ale

 Ice cubes

Stir together the apple cider, orange juice, pineapple juice and

sugar in a punch bowl. 

Pour in the ginger ale.  Add ice cubes.

Halloween Popcorn Grunch

Yield: 10 cups  

8 c  Popcorn

1/2 c  Salted pumpkin seeds

1/2 c  Dried cranberries or raisins

1/2 c  Banana chips broken

1 1/2 c  Sugar

1/2 c  Corn syrup

1/4 c  Water

1/4 c  Butter

1 tsp Vanilla 

In large buttered bowl, combine first 4 ingredients; set aside.

In medium saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup and water; bring to a

boil. Cook, covered 3 minutes. Uncover and cook, without stirring,

until mixture reaches hard-ball stage (260 F), 4 - 5 minutes.

Add butter and vanilla; cook, stirring 1 minute. Pour over popcorn

mixture; toss quickly to coat. Turn mixture out onto greased baking

sheet and spread using buttered hands.

Cool and break into pieces.

Halloween Pizza 

Makes 2 pizzas        

1 lb Frozen bread dough -- thawed

2 tsp Vegetable oil

1 c Mozzarella cheese -- shredded

1 can (15 oz) Tomato sauce

1 tbs Onion -- chopped

1 t Salt

1 t Dried oregano leaves

1/2 tsp Garlic powder

2 c Cheddar cheese -- shredded

4 oz Pepperoni or salami -- sliced

1 Green pepper-cut into  strips

Ripe olives -- sliced 

 Heat oven to 325-degrees.  Divide thawed dough in

 half. Roll and stretch each half into 10-12" circle on

 lightly-floured baking sheet. Turn up edges 1/2" and

 pinch or pleat. Brush circles with oil; sprinkle with

 mozzarella cheese.  Mix tomato sauce, onion, salt,

 oregano and garlic powder; pour on circles.  Top with

 cheddar cheese. Decorate with overlapping pepperoni

 slices around edge of pizzas, olive slices for eyes,

 and green pepper strips for eyebrows, noses and

 smiles. Bake until crust is brown, 20-25 minutes.
  

Chili (CROCKPOT) Serving Size  : 8

3 One pound cans kidney beans -drained

2 One pound cans diced tomatoes

2 lb ground beef,  browned and drained

2 med Onions coarsely chopped

1 c diced celery

1 clove minced garlic

4 -6 tablespoons chili powder

1 t cumin

salt and pepper to taste 

Put all ingredients into the  Crockpot in order listed.
Stir once. Cover and cook on Low for 10 12 hours
or  High 5 -6 hours.

Texas Red Chili

Yield: 6 servings

3 lb Beef Boneless Round Steak; *

1 c  Onion; Finely Chopped,

4 ea Cloves Garlic Finely Chopped

1/4 c  Vegetable Oil

2 c  Tomato Puree

2 tbs Red Chiles; Ground, To Taste

1 tsp Cumin Seed; Ground

1 tsp Coriander; Ground

4 ea Anaheim Chiles; **

 4 ea Jalapeno Chiles; ** 

GARNISHES

      1 x  Cheddar Cheese; Shredded

      1 x  Flour Tortillas

      1 x  Pinto Beans; Cooked 

*Round Steak should be cut into 1-inch cubes
** Peppers should be  seeded and chopped.
Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic in 4-quart

Dutch oven until beef is brown. Stir in remaining
ingredients except cheese, tortillas and beans.

Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer,
stirring occasionally, until beef is tender, about2 hours.
Serve with cheese, tortillas, and beans.
 

Easy Lasagna

Yield: 6 servings
 

12 oz Cottage cheese

2 c Mozzarella cheese -shredded

2  Whole eggs

1/3 c Dried parsley

1 tsp Onion powder

12 tsp Dried basil

1tsp Pepper

1 qt Spaghetti sauce

3/4 lb Ground beef -- cooked

9 Pieces lasagna noodles

1/4 c  Water

Parmesan cheese 

In large bowl mix first 7 ingredients until well

blended; set aside. In medium bowl, mix together

spaghetti sauce and ground beef. In 12"x8"x2" baking

dish, spread 3/4 cup meat sauce. Layer 3 uncooked

lasagna noodles on top. Spread with half of the cheese

mixture and 1 1/2 cups meat sauce. Layer

3 more noodles on top of meat sauce. Spread with

remaining cheese mixture. Top with remaining 3 noodles

and remaining meat sauce. Pour water around edges of

casserole. Cover tightly with foil. Bake in 375? oven

45 minutes. Uncover and bake15 minutes more or until

noodles are tender. Let stand 10 minutes before

serving. Serve with parmesan cheese.

1  Bag Fritos

1 can Bean Dip

Chopped mild onion

Chopped green, red or

yellow bell pepper

Chopped ripe tomato

Chopped cabbage or lettuce

Chopped canned jalapenos

Scallions

Grated sharp cheddar cheese
iced black or green olives

Sour cream
 

Country Club Sour Cream And Dill Dip

Yield: 6 servings  Makes about 2 1/4 cups of dip. 

3 tbs Fresh Dill; Chopped, OR

1 tbs Dried Dill; Crushed

1 tbs Lemon Juice

1 c  Sour Cream

1 t  Salt

1/2 t  White Pepper

2 tbs White Onion; Grated

1 c  Mayonnaise 

Mix the dill and lemon juice together to soften the dill.  Blend in

all of the other ingredients until almost smooth.  Cover and chill.

SUGGESTED DIPPERS:  Red Cabbage, Broccoli, Zucchini,

Tomatoes, String Beans, Cocktail Rye Bread, Seafood, Apples
