Valentine's Day is for Lovers

Choose your menu with ultimate sensuality in mind
Here's a
fun recipe that is perfect for a LOVE-ly party.
Beso de Queso (Kiss of Cheese)
12 9" flour tortillas
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 jalapeno pepper chopped or chives
Mix
softened cream cheese with 1/2 teaspoon jalapeno or
chives, to taste. Spread mixture onto 12 tortillas,
covering the entire surface. Roll up each tortilla,
tightly from one edge to the other. Refrigerate for
one hour. Before serving, cut each roll up into 1
inch slices. Lay flat on a plate. Serve with a bowl
of fresh salsa. Yum.
I found this one in a recent Parade Magazine,
submitted by W.R. Valentine, of Rogers City MI. I
tried it, its delicious and its an easy make ahead
recipe. I 'm calling it Mr. Valentine's
Toast.
The Sauce:
1 15 oz can diced tomatoes, drained
2 tbsp chopped onions
1 tablespoon capers
1 tbsp teriyaki
2 tbsp olive oil
1 to 2 tbsp fresh basil or 1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper.
Mix all together in the order shown. Refrigerate
overnight.
The toast:
1 24 oz loaf of french bread
1/2 cup melted butter
1/4 cup olive oil
4 gloves minced garlic
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano.
Slice bread into 20 pieces.Toast in a 400 F oven for
8 min.
Mix remaining items and spread mixture on each piece
of toast
Bake for about 10 additional min.
Serve with sauce set to room temperature.
